Chief Executive Officer
BSc, LLB, MBA (London Business School)
Tim has 14 years’ experience across real estate investment management, investment banking with Goldman Sachs and corporate law with Herbert Smith Freehills including 9 years with APN.
Tim has worked on mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions worth A$8 billion within Australia and internationally including a number of significant commercial real estate transactions across, retail, office, industrial and healthcare including in recent years the listing on ASX of Industria REIT and Convenience Retail REIT with over A$800 million in assets.
He has led both private and public capital raising projects for real estate investments and successfully completed asset acquisitions, sales and asset management projects and the launch of new investment funds.
Tim leads APN’s team and is responsible for setting and implementing APN’s strategy and growth objectives, developing and managing APN’s team and establishing new products as well as the investment performance of APN’s investment products and the company itself.
Chief Financial Officer
Michael joined APN in 2006 and is responsible for all accounting, compliance and tax related matters for APN.
Prior to joining APN, Michael was with KPMG Melbourne for several years, where he worked closely with a number of major listed companies and stockbrokers. Michael also spent three years in London with various organisations including Abbey plc (now part of the Santander Group) and Ofgem.
Chief Executive Officer, Real Estate Securities
Michael joined APN in 2003 and is responsible for the portfolio management of APN’s suite of real estate securities funds and direct property funds for the retail market. Michael is also the dedicated Fund Manager of the APN AREIT Fund.
Michael is highly regarded in the real estate funds management industry and has 25 years experience. Michael held various senior roles specialising in real estate valuation, consultancy and funds management.
Before joining APN, Michael was Head of Property at ANZ Funds Management Limited which included responsibility for listed and direct property portfolios as well as a large mortgage fund.
Michael is a Senior Fellow of both the Australian Property Institute and the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Business (Property), an Associate Diploma in Valuations, Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance & Investment and is actively involved in a number of not for profit community focussed organisations. In 2014 he was appointed to the board of St Kevin’s College in Melbourne.
Fund Manager, Real Estate Securities
Pete joined APN in 2006 and is responsible for managing APN’s Property for Income Funds and Asian REIT strategies.
With more than 15 years financial markets experience, Pete brings a unique knowledge set having completed Masters level academic research papers on both commercial real estate cycles and global property securities.
Prior to joining APN, he was a senior analyst at Australian research house Lonsec, managed an internationally focused private investment fund and worked in the UK for Nomura, ING Barings and Lloyds Bank.
Pete holds both a Master of Commerce and Master of Finance and is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
Analyst, Real Estate Securities
Mark joined APN in June 2014 and is part of the Investment Team tasked with analysing and investing in both Australian and Asian real estate-sector equities.
Prior to joining APN, Mark worked for Ernst & Young for four and a half years. As a Senior Consultant, Mark’s responsibilities included real estate market research, property valuation, project feasibility studies, options/scenario analysis, financial modelling for real estate investments, transaction due diligence and bespoke advisory engagements. Mark worked across all major real estate sectors including residential, commercial, retail, industrial and social. Mark was accepted into the New Horizons Program which resulted in a six month secondment to the Ernst & Young corporate finance team in Singapore.
Prior to Ernst & Young Mark completed a three year cadetship working with m3 property strategists between 2007 and 2009.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and a Bachelor of Property and Construction (Property) at the University of Melbourne. Mark is also an Associate of the Australian Property Institute (AAPI) and a Certified Practicing Valuer (CPV). Mark is also a CFA charterholder.
Analyst, Real Estate Securities
Matthew Coleman comes to APN from Jones Lang LaSalle where he has been an analyst in the Corporate Consulting team. Prior to that, Matthew worked at UBS as an analyst.
He holds a Bachelor of Business & Commerce (Monash) and is currently completing his Masters of Property at RMIT.
Matthew brings fundamental property knowledge, excellent communication skills and a genuine interest in the AREIT sector.
Portfolio Manager, Asian Real Estate Securities
Corrine joined APN Property Group as a Portfolio Manager for the Asian REIT Fund in February 2015. Corrine has a strong background in property and REITs in Australia, Asia and the North American markets.
Prior to joining APN Corrine worked for Aviva Investors (Senior Investment Analyst, North America Real Estate Securities Team) and Goldman Sachs & Co (Vice President, Goldman Sachs Asset Management Real Estate Securities Team) in New York.
In Australia, in the earlier part of her career, Corrine worked at Challenger Group / HSBC Asset Management as an Analyst, and before that at Urbis / JHD Advisors as a Consultant on retail real estate projects throughout Asia
Analyst, Asian Real Estate Securities
Before joining APN, Patrick worked for Pitcher Partners Investment Services for two and a half years as an Associate Research Analyst. Patrick undertook research on the A-REIT, Transportation & Infrastructure sectors to give investment recommendations to a team of financial advisors. Prior to that, Patrick worked at Climate Focus, an international consultancy specialising in the development of policies and projects that mitigate the effects of climate change.
Patrick holds a Masters of Management (Finance) and a Bachelor of Environments (Property) from the University of Melbourne and is currently undertaking the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) programme.
Fund Manager, Convenience Retail REIT
Chris joined APN in March 2016 and was previously responsible for managing the Direct Property Funds business before the listing of the Convenience Retail REIT.
Chris has over 10 years of experience in direct real estate, funds and asset management, predominately in the retail property space.
Prior to joining APN, Chris was with Vicinity Centres for over 10 years, where he held a number of senior roles including Head of their Unlisted Funds Management business (formerly known as Centro MCS Direct Property) where he was responsible for funds under management of $1.7 billion, comprising 75 properties, across a number of Australian, New Zealand and US unlisted property funds. More recently, he has been responsible for managing Vicinity Centres’ key joint venture partnerships.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Business at Swinburne University and is also a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
Assistant Fund Manager of Direct Property
Tom has over 15 years of property experience across institutional capital transactions, investment sales and property valuations.
Prior to joining APN in April 2017, Tom has worked at Savills as an Associate Director of Retail Investments and with Vicinity Centres within the capital transactions team where he was responsible in completing over $5 billion in sales, acquisitions and joint venture establishment.
Tom holds Bachelor of Business (Property) at the University of South Australia, is a Certified Practicing Valuer (Associate of the Australian Property Institute) and holds a Agents representative licence.
Assistant Fund Manager of Direct Property
Annika has substantial experience across all key areas of direct property investment, including acquisitions, asset management and funds management.
Prior to joining APN in 2017, Annika oversaw a $1bn portfolio of assets across Australia on behalf of CIMB TrustCapital, a Singapore-based investment manager. In this role she had responsibility for optimising asset performance and investment outcome, and also helped source and acquire over $300m worth of new office properties. Before moving to Australia in 2011, Annika worked for LaSalle Investment Management in Singapore where she assisted with the management of two US$3.7bn opportunistic funds invested across Asia-Pacific. She was also based in the United States for several years as the Vice President of Acquisition for Resource Real Estate, a national property investor. Her experience spans across all property sectors, but with a particular expertise in office and multifamily (“build-to-rent”) assets.
Annika holds a Master of Science in Business Administration from Gothenburg University (Sweden), majoring in finance.
Fund Manager, Industria REIT
Alex started as Fund Manager of Industria REIT in April 2016. Alex has substantial experience across all the key areas of real estate funds management, including asset management, leasing, capital transactions, corporate finance and investor relations.
Prior to joining APN Property Group, Alex worked for one of Australia’s largest managers of CBD office property, Investa Office – where he was the Assistant Fund Manager for the $3.5 billion ASX-listed Investa Office Fund. Alex played a critical role in delivering IOF’s strategy of selling offshore assets and reinvesting proceeds into the domestic market to establish a high quality portfolio of Australian CBD Office assets generating attractive risk-adjusted returns.
Alex has more than 13 years’ experience in the property industry, and prior to Investa Office held a number of senior roles at Stockland and Halladale in the United Kingdom – where he managed a suite of funds between 2006 and 2010 – a period of rapid change in the market that provided invaluable experience across debt, equity and real estate markets. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Newcastle and an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services.
Senior Portfolio Manager, Industria REIT
David has over 20 years’ experience in the property industry, having held senior positions comprising property and investment management.
A Licensed Estate Agent, David was an Associate Director at Colliers International and held numerous senior positions over a period of 11 years in the management of landmark CBD and industrial assets for institutional investors, as well as new business generation and management of the Victorian property management team.
More recently, David held the position of Senior Asset Manager with Australand Property Group for a period of over nine years. Over this time, David was involved with many facets of property investment management incorporating acquisition, development, strategic management, leasing and divestment, with a portfolio responsibility of over $850 million in value of major commercial and industrial assets. David was also a Responsible Officer for Australand Investments Limited, Australand Property Limited and Australand Funds Management Limited.
David holds an Associate Diploma in Valuations, a Graduate Diploma in Property, a Diploma in Property Investment and Finance and is a Licensed Estate Agent. He is a member of the Australian Property Institute.
